Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), a leading public sector bank and a Government of India Undertaking, has released a major recruitment notification for the engagement of 635 Apprentices across various States and Union Territories for the training year 2026-27. This one-year apprenticeship training program is governed by the Apprentices Act 1961 and its subsequent amendments, offering a crucial entry point for young graduates seeking experience in the banking sector.
The Bank is inviting applications from eligible Indian Citizens who hold a regular Graduation degree in any discipline. A unique and mandatory prerequisite for all candidates is prior registration on both the national apprenticeship portals: https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/ and https://nats.education.gov.in/. Only candidates with a 100% completed profile on these portals will be considered eligible to apply to PSB for this apprenticeship.
Prospective candidates must note that this is a fully online application process. The online application window opens on May 21, 2026, and the final deadline for submission, including fees and application modifications, is June 6, 2026. Given the competitive nature of this opportunity and the volume of vacancies (635 in total), candidates are strongly advised to complete their registrations and profile verification on the apprenticeship portals early to ensure timely submission of their application on the Bank’s official website: https://punjabandsind.bank.in/.
The engagement is strictly for a training period, and the candidates engaged as Apprentices will not be treated as “employees” of the Bank, nor will they be entitled to receive any benefits available to permanent employees. Furthermore, it is not obligatory on the part of the Bank to offer any employment after the completion of the apprenticeship training.
