CSIR-STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTRE (SERC), Chennai, a National Laboratory under the aegis of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), invites applications from talented candidates for engagement as ITI Trade and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices in designated Trades as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprenticeships will be filled through a walk-in interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

Note:

• Age Limits (as on 20.05.2026): Minimum 14 years for ITI Apprentices. Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years for Technician/Diploma Apprentices.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and up to 10 years for PwD categories for posts reserved for them.
• Eligibility Check: Technician candidates must have passed the qualifying exam in 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025. Candidates should not have undergone or currently be undergoing Apprenticeship Training elsewhere, nor have one year or more of job experience.
• Accommodation: Accommodation at the Training and Development Complex (TDC) hostel is available for selected candidates for a nominal fee of Rs. 50 per day.

Procedure to Apply:

1. Candidates are advised to register as ITI/Technician (Diploma) Apprentices online in the respective state portals, and the enrolment number should be quoted in the application.
2. Appear in the walk-in-interview with a duly filled-in application (available on the CSIR-SERC website).
3. Bring original and one set of photocopies of all relevant testimonials with self-attestation, including qualifications, DOB, community certificate, Aadhaar Card, and a passport size photograph.
4. The walk-in-interview will be held on 20 May 2026 at SERC, Chennai.

Selection Process:

• Selection is based on a walk-in-interview.
• If the number of candidates is high, the Selection Committee reserves the right to adopt its own criteria to shortlist candidates for the interview.
